Kazakh Secretary of State called on telemedicine center in Atyrau

The telemedicine center is located at the regional hospital. According to head physician of the hospital Alibek Gabdullin, the center started its work back in April 2006.

The first formal telemedicine technology course for doctors in Asia will be launched in collaboration with Apollo Hospitals at Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, its Vice-Chancellor Meer Mustafa Hussain said here on Monday.

Nearly $128M now available for distance learning, telemedicine

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is making available $62.9 million in distance learning and telemedicine loans, $50 million in loan and grant combinations, and $15 million in grants.

Heart disease risk is tied more to place than race

Where you live might play a bigger role in your risk for heart disease than your ethnicity or race. New research reveals that rural residents were more knowledgeable about healthy eating and heart disease risk than urban residents, but that urban residents were more motivated and optimistic about getting healthy.

Lifesaving care from afar: Telemedicine showcased for UC regents

Telemedicine uses an Internet connection, computer screens and Web cameras to allow doctors in two locations to communicate in real time. UCD experts can see the patient, zoom in to view a wound or X-rays, and even listen to the patient's heartbeat with a special stethoscope.

Many states have effectively used the technology to improve health care in rural communities. Most of us probably don't realize our own health care may have been facilitated by telemedicine.

Chennai to host international meet on telemedicine
